Have you ever tried something on that you know doesn't fit quite right, and justified buying it anyway by telling yourself that it'll look GREAT after you've worked out for a couple months? I have. More times than I'd like to admit. For the longest time, I kept telling myself that what I was doing was more motivational and less wasteful....until I realized how many "motivational" pieces were untouched in the back of my closet.
For many reasons (including fitting into all the clothes I've bought), I've started taking my health very seriously as of late. I've finally made a habit out of working out 4-5 times a week and I can totally feel the difference. But it wasn't until I slipped into this crop top and high waisted pants (that I purchased a looong time ago), that I finally saw a difference. Call me superficial, but finally fitting into my "goal clothes" lit a fire under me, and now I'm actually excited to go to the gym these days. Who am I?!?
Even though I normally steer clear of crop tops, I actually really love this look. The pants were a little out of the box for me also, but I'm starting to embrace the high-waist and flare. Plus, I love the idea of having options other than denim when it comes to pants. I'm realizing that 95% of looking good is just feeling good and as cliche as it sounds, confidence really is the best accessory you can wear.
As I mentioned before, I bought both the top and pants a while ago so they're not available anymore. The pants are Joie, which I picked up at Nordstrom Rack. The crop top is from Topshop, although I'm pretty sure you'd be able to find something similar pretty much anywhere. I linked a few options for pants below in case you're interested!
