Easy Air-dried Hair
IMG_9773.JPG

Fun fact: I've had long hair my entire life...and then I chopped it all off about two years ago after my wedding. It only took about a year for me to be over the short hair and off & on bangs, and so started the long process of growing it all out again. It's been difficult styling my hair in each awkward stage of it growing out, especially because I've been avoiding blowdrying + heat (I hear it can slow down hair growth). My hair has finally started to feel "long" again and I got a few questions about how I've been styling it, so I thought I'd do a quick post to share with you guys! So here goes...

1. My hair is naturally wavy. It's fairly straight on top, but underneath it's pretty wavy and does it's own thing. To start, I wash my hair with the Unite Luxury Pearl & Honey shampoo and conditioner. It leaves my hair feeling super soft and clean, I love it!

2. After washing, I used my BC Rescue Repair cream at the bottom of my hair to prevent split ends and protect from any heat. I let my hair air-dry (in the spirit of embracing all the natural waves and bends), except for the top crown. I gather the hair at the top and blow-dry just those pieces, so my hair doesn't fall too flat at the roots.

3. Once my hair is completely dry (or the next morning if I wash my hair at night), I take the 1 1/4 inch hot tools curling iron and curl the top layers of my hair. I try to leave the bottom as is, picking whatever pieces are too straight or a little wild and just fix those. I also use the curling iron to tame down the baby hairs at my temples so I don't look like a frizzy mess haha.

4. Once I'm done, I let all the curls cool for a minute, shake it out with my hands and finish it with the Oribe Thick Dry Finishing Spray.

That's it for my hair routine! It's super fast and low maintenance and you'll avoid unnecessary heat on your hair. Plus an added bonus: no more having to take the time to blow dry your hair and get all sweaty from the hot air after the shower. I hate that!

I hope this was helpful for you guys! I thought about doing a hair tutorial but honestly, I'm not very savvy with Youtube and video editing. Would you guys want to see some Youtube content from me? Let me know in the comments below!!
