Blazin' Blue

I think girls sometimes have this idea in their head that work clothes = boring clothes. Maybe it's the serious environment, or the sheer fact that most people can't go to work in sweats. I don't know. But I'm here to tell you that work clothes can be cute clothes! Yay! You don't have to split your clothes into two separate wardrobes anymore...the key is finding pieces that can be transitioned from casual wear to work wear. Enter: this blue blazer.

I especially love this piece (gifted to me a couple years ago) because of the bright color. It automatically makes it a fun statement piece, without risking looking unprofessional. The slight padding in the shoulders and tapered waist give it a custom tailored look and the length is just right to be paired with any bottoms. I wore mine with cropped linen black pants and a white top: simple pieces that almost every working girl has in her closet!

I accessorized with my favorite dark green Alexander Wang satchel (sold out, but similar one here) for some more color without being too distracting, comfortable Steven Madden flats and sunglasses! For a more casual look, switch out the black pants for some jeans or distressed shorts of your choice. Add some strappy black heels or opt for a little black dress underneath to take this look from daytime to night time. What are some of your favorite work pieces?
