Nothing makes me feel as good as a set of freshly painted nails. I suppose it's because I'm constantly looking at my hands, whether it's typing on my laptop, texting on my phone....Plus, one of my biggest pet peeves is chipped nail polish. I can't. stand. it. So some fresh paint makes me mucho happy. On another slightly related noted, today was crazy. I pretty much handled my Monday like a boss (and on only one cup of coffee), so the only appropriate way to celebrate was to give myself a quick, at-home manicure.
Since it's still winter I decided to go for a darker shade of teal (Essie: Go Overboard). I tend to like darker shades on my hands anyway (I'm a sucker for black nail polish). I feel like it suits my skin tone and makes my jewelry stand out a bit more. I topped off two coats of color with some Sally Hanson no-chip top coat, added my favorite rings and voila! Mani complete.
Pictured above are a few of the rings I have on rotation and wear pretty much every day. From left to right:
- Initial stacking rings from Catbird NYC . These ones are perfect because not only are they my initials, they're also my fiancé and mine's first name initials, but ALSO will be my initials after I'm married. Talk about convenient!
- The two midi rings were actually some finds while I was visiting Pike's Market in Seattle. At $14 each I probably should have just bought all of them....but some similar ones can be found here, here and here.
- The band I got from Nordstrom and is one of my favorites. I can stack it with anything, it looks great by itself and doubles as a thumb ring too. Great find for the price!
- The last one I purchased at Madewell last winter, so I'm pretty sure they don't have it in the stores anymore. I'm still looking for something similar, but in real gold (so it won't tarnish or lose it's polish) but haven't had any luck. You can shop all the available rings on Madewell here! They're not overly expensive, have unique designs and make great gifts too!
Tell me about some of your favorite jewels!
