I love dessert. And I especially love dessert that I can make quickly. So earlier today when I was having my sweet tooth cravings, I decided to whip up a little dessert that involves all good things: bananas, mascarpone cheese, white chocolate chips and cinnamon. And I did it in under ten minutes!!
There's one catch to this recipe: you need a panini press. Well no. Let me rephrase...having one will make the process much easier and faster. But if not, a simple toaster oven or good ole' frying pan and spatula will do too. The point is to get the inside ingredients to melt (but you'll be missing the fun lines on the outside, which are my favorite part).
Anyway, back to the recipe. Here's what you need:
- One butter croissant
- Mascarpone cheese
- One ripe banana
- White chocolate chips (or dark/milk, whichever you prefer)
To assemble: Cut the croissant in half, lay face side up. Spread the mascarpone cheese on top. Slice the bananas and add those on top, to each side of the croissant. Add the white chocolate chips to your desire (I only put a few, white chocolate is not my favorite but I didn't have any milk chocolate ones). Drizzle the honey and sprinkle some cinnamon to taste, on top. In the meantime, plug in your panini grill so it's nice and hot by the time you're done assembling. Close the croissant (like a sandwich), set it on the panini grill and close the top. It should be done in about a minute, but keep an eye to make sure it doesn't burn and the inside is properly melted.
Best served hot and with a cup of coffee (and in front of the fireplace, obviously).
